# DermVault

> DermVault is a free Android app (iPhone planned) for dermatologists to capture standardised clinical photos, compare any two visits in seconds, and export before/after records. All patient data stays on the doctor's phone; the developer runs no servers. It is a record-keeping tool, not a diagnostic device.

## Who it is for
- Registered dermatologists and dermatology residents, and the clinic staff they authorise.
- Built in Tamil Nadu, India, by Dr Sanjai Maria Jeyen M (MD DVL resident). Contact: dermvault.app@gmail.com
- Languages: English and Tamil.

## What it does
- Capture: guide overlays (front face, left/right profile, scalp, nails), ghost of the earlier photo for alignment, blur check with retake prompt, gallery import.
- Compare: slider, side-by-side and grid views with synchronised zoom; photos pair by view; arrows, circles and labels.
- Track: severity scores with trend line (PASI 0-72, mMASI 0-24, VASI 0-100, SALT 0-100, GAGS 0-44), offered only for the matching diagnosis; dated treatment markers; follow-up reminders.
- Time-lapse: one view across all visits, shared as GIF or printable PDF strip.
- Export: before/after comparison PDF, visit record PDF, printable consent form (English/Tamil).
- Clinic use: a PIN per person; staff capture visits for doctor approval and cannot see earlier photos, notes or scores; activity log.

## Privacy and security
- No account, no developer servers, no ads, no analytics, no tracking.
- Data is stored in app-private storage on the phone; Android cloud auto-backup is disabled.
- Optional automatic backups (daily, weekly, monthly) are encrypted on the phone with AES-256 using the doctor's passphrase and saved to the doctor's own Google Drive (app data folder) or to the phone. Only new photos upload each time.
- Screenshot blocking (doctor can allow for up to 2 hours), hidden recent-apps preview, auto-lock, waits after repeated wrong PINs.

## Status and pricing
- Free. Closed beta on Google Play first; public release after testing. iPhone version prepared.
